The power of a simple gift

Operation Christmas Child sends a message of hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes. Last year Samaritan's Purse in the UK sent out almost 1.2 million shoe boxes to children in hospitals, orphanages, internally displaced persons camps, homeless shelters and impoverished neighbourhoods.

This annual project enables you to fill ordinary shoe boxes with small toys, school supplies, sweets, and other gifts for hurting children around the world. The gifts are given regardless of nationality, political background or religious beliefs to children requiring nothing of them, their families or communities in return.

This year we are a collection point for shoe boxes. Cuddly toy, toothbrush, soap, flannel, pens, pencils hats, gloves, scarf, tennis ball, puzzles, jewellery, hair accessories, a truck and toy plane!! Such simple things that could give a child with nothing some joy! If you would like to know more about filling a shoe box then please take a leaflet home or visit www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk.
